Why Chinmaya Vidyalaya?
The Vidyalaya operating under Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, Mumbai, besides offering formal education through the CBSE stream, imparts value based education which extends a strong and effective moral foundation. The methodology based on “Chinmaya Vision Programme” established a foundation for integrated personality development extends an in-depth, knowledge of Indian culture and instils feelings of patriotism. This programme develops the universal outlook of the students thereby helping to mould a student holistically.
The school has steadily grown from strength of 200 students to 1340 students and the teaching faculty from eleven to sixty-four. The school now has two blocks; Shankaram and Tapovanam block which comprises spacious and airy smart classrooms, staff rooms, school offices and management rooms. The school has well-equipped full-fledged laboratories, an ideal library, conference room, a spacious playground which comprises a basketball and throw ball court, an auditorium with a seating capacity of around 500.
Chinmaya Vision Programme
The Chinmaya Vision Programme is what makes the Chinmaya Educational Institutions “School with a difference”. It concretizes Swami Chinmayananda’s vision of education. This programme was born to enshrine the philosophy of education developed by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda in the heart of every growing child to bring out the best in him or her.The child is the focal point of this programme. The programme embraces school management, teachers and parents. Through them, the light of this vision spreads to the society, country and the world at large.

It aims at the overall enfoldment and gentle blossoming of the child at the physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual levels of his/her personality.
Physical Development
It implies good health and proper growth of children leading to the optimum expression of their overall well-being. It includes physical fitness, nutrition, hygiene, personal grooming, health education, health assessment, prevention of diseases and their treatment.
Mental Development
It aims at helping a child to be emotionally balanced. It includes emotional expansion, handling emotions, handling relationships, gender specific education, and mental health assessment and counselling.
Patriotism
This vital area of focus includes education in citizenship, civic consciousness. It aims at moulding students into dedicated and committed citizens who take real pride in serving the nation
Universal Outlook
This helps the child to view himself/herself as a responsible citizen of the world, live in harmony with the creation as well as become aware of being an intrinsic part of the macrocosm.
Indian Culture
Here each child is given a wide exposure to our culture, cultural awareness, explanations of various customs and traditions through projects.
Spiritual Development
This is achieved through value education, mass chanting and yoga in our curriculum. All students also participate in the Gayatri Homam and Paduka Pooja performed in the school every week.
Intellectual Development
CVP aims to help the child manifest his/her inherent intellectual capacities and enhance the existing ones. It includes intellectual kindling, independent thinking, management skills, aesthetics, intellectual assessment and guidance.
